About TheClubIndex
TheClub Index is an editorial catalogue of football club and national team crests: meanings, short histories, stadiums and maps — built for fans who want facts, not filler.
Our Mission
Document football visual identity with sourced crest meanings, honest incomplete-page labels, and useful structure (facts, country links, 3D map) even while a page is still growing.
The project started from the idea of gathering, in one place, what is usually scattered across wikis, club sites and fan archives: crest meanings, club history and stadium context. We are not a news wire or a results aggregator — we are an editorial catalogue of football visual identity.
We want a reader — fan, researcher or journalist — to open a club page and quickly understand what the badge communicates, where the club comes from and where it plays. When documentation is still partial, we say so clearly instead of inventing generic prose.
What We Offer
- Detailed information about football clubs from all continents
- National team crests and their historical significance
- Crest meaning and symbolism explanations
- Club history and founding information
- Interactive stadium maps and locations
Methodology — sourced crests
We prioritise pages with club-specific history and crest meaning. Lines such as “the crest represents the identity of the city” are treated as templates: they are hidden in the public view and the page does not count as complete documentation.
The editorial flow is simple: (1) baseline facts (foundation, city, league, stadium); (2) crest meaning with colours, symbols and context; (3) a short but checkable history; (4) stadium description when reliable material exists. We prefer original writing over pasting long blocks from other sources.
Read From template to sourced page and the crest guide for how we read badges day to day.
Indexability rules (summary)
Not every club page enters the main search index. In short:
- Minimum history length and non-generic crest meaning.
- Crest templates are hidden on the public page.
- Thin pages may still be reachable by URL, but we mark partial documentation and invite corrections.
- We do not mass-noindex without an explicit editorial decision.

How to suggest corrections
On every club or national-team page you can use the Suggest a correction button (also in the menu). Describe the error, the source (official site, book, archive) and, if possible, the year of a crest redesign. You can also email us directly below.
Well-sourced corrections take priority over generic “please improve this text” requests. The goal is editorial quality, not volume.
Technology
Built with modern web technologies, TheClubIndex is optimized for both desktop and mobile devices, providing a fast and enjoyable experience for football fans worldwide.
Contact Us
Send sourced corrections, crest redesign notes or partnership ideas. Prefer the on-page suggestion form for club-specific fixes; use email for broader questions.
